Support The Music Program Mama Mia’s is hosting this program to benefit the music program of the Upper Township School District. “Music is so important,” says Chef Massaglia. The fund-raising program is scheduled to be held throughout the 1999/2000 school year. For every coupon that is redeemed with the purchase of a pizza, $1 will be donated to the Upper Township School District’s elementary school music program. Coupons are available on this website (see Upcoming Events) or at the restaurant. Chef Massaglia’s goal is to donate $10,000 to the schools’ music programs. For information, call (609) 624-9322. In this prestigious position, Chef Massaglia works to put on the premier charity event that gathers over 30 of southern New Jersey’s finest restaurants for a spectacular evening of dining and dancing. This year’s event presented by Commerce Bank will be held Tuesday, March 28, 2000 at the Atlantic City Convention Center. Participating restaurants provide their finest dishes to be sampled by the guests. Last year’s Gala -- the 16th anniversary of the event, was held Tuesday, April 6 at the Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort. The event raised $60,000 to fund scholarships for students in the Academy of Culinary Arts at Atlantic Cape Community College. During the event, students prepare and serve hors d’oeuvres during the cocktail hour. For information, contact the Gala hotline at (609) 272-7901 or email Gina Skinner or visit the website. Millennium Gala Chef Massaglia recently participated in a tribute to education in the 21st Century at an event held October 1999 at the Flanders Hotel in Ocean City. The event benefitted students of the Cape May Technical School District, the Cape May County Schools for Special Service and Atlantic Cape Community College. Upper Township Middle School Fundraising Program for Home Economics Program Chef Massaglia also recently joined a group of Cape May County chefs who lent their expertise to a group of home economic students in Upper Township Middle School. The chefs taught the students skills necessary to set a table, cook, serve food and clean up. Food Bank of NJ Every year since 1993, Chef Massaglia has joined a team of restaurants and chefs putting on the annual “Taste of the Town” fundraising event that benefits the Food Bank of New Jersey.
